AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a legally registered NGO operating in Nigeria, AHF-Nigeria collaborates with the Federal Governments of  Nigeria and other partner institutions, to provide technical assistance to these key stakeholders to deliver quaiity and comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, Care and Support, HIV counseling, and testing, Preventon, Nutrition and Psychosocial services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Job Title:  ART Nurse/Prevention Program Coordinator 

No of vacancy:  2 

Reports To:  Prevention Manager / Site Coordinator 

Location:  Based in Benue and Nasarawa State 

 

JOB SUMMARY 

The ART nurse assists the dinkian in ensuring smooth implementation of the ART service delivery within the facility. He/She will directly supervise the community HIV prevention programs. This position is crucial to the achievement of AHF Nigeria's programmatic targets and objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In close collaboration with the facility medical officer, ensure the provision of quality, evidence based care in fICT-Prevention, ART, PMTCT, and TB services, 

• Provides skilled nursing procedures (i.e dressing changes). 

• Administers medication as ordered within the scope of practice of the licensee. 

• Performs phtebotomy and/or initiates intravenous infusions as ordered. 

• Attends and partldpates in team conferences as requested. 

• May act as a team leader to assist wrth the provision and supervision of patient care. 

• Charts notes and medication administration according to protocol. 

• Provides patient and family education. 

• Exercises appropriate judgment and decision making skills, 

• Ensures the maintenance of patient confidentiality. 

• Reports significant changes in the patient's physical status to the RN andlor to the medicai provider. 

• Establish effective linkages and referral of patients within and outside the facility. 

• Supervise community program staff and ensure achievement of targets as well as timely preparation and dissemination of reports. 

• Ensures that all disseminated protocols are strictiy adhered to by site staff. 

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation orall services provided. 

• Implement operational research protocols to answer important questions within AHF's treatment and prevention programs. 

• Any-other duty designated by the Country Program Manager. 

 

Key Result Areas 

1. Quality of HN treatment and TB services at the site. 

2. HIV prevention program indicators. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• University graduate in Nursing. 

• At least one year experience in HIV program management. 

• Knowledge of minimum prevention package for Nigeria is highly essential. 

• Must be highly orqanized and capable of effective multi-tasking,
