Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria President Salutes Colleagues, Issues Two week Indefinite Strike Ultimatum

Posted on: Fri 24-01-2014

Dear Colleagues: I salute your courage and doggedness in the face of daunting odds. I must commend your compliance with our directives.

The meeting with Government yesterday was rather stormy but encouraging. we refused to sign any MUO or Agreement with Govt since all the ones signed earlier had not been satisfactorily implemented. The basis for trust in the FMOH has been completely eroded. We therefore demanded for the escalation of the negotiation to the level of Presidency as a condition for attending any subsequent meeting with Govt.

The Warning Strike will continue and end at 12 midnight today, Friday 24th January, 2014.

Government has been put on notice that without further notification from us, at the expiration of two weeks from the end of this warning strike, if the issues in contention are not satisfactorily addressed by Government, an indefinite nationwide total strike will follow ranging from the Primary Health Care Centres in Local Governments to tertiary hospitals across the country.

All acts of victimization and unwarranted harassment should be documented and forwarded to us for appropriate action from the Abuja end.

Thank you.
Dr. G. C. Okara
National President,
Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria , Abuja.
