BREAKING: Common Wealth University Confers Doctorate Degree on Nigerian Physiotherapist, Others in Dubai

The Common Wealth University (CU) on Friday 13th December 2019, conferred a Doctor of Public Health (Honoris Causa) on renowned Nigerian Physiotherapist, Dr Omojunikanbi Alfred (PT) amongst other dignitaries drawn from across Africa in a week-long event hosted in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Dr Omojunikanbi who is the Head of Physiotherapy Department, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, was awarded the Honorary Ph.D in Public Health "in recognition of his contributions, services and impacts in the area of health to mankind..." the CU stated.  A profile statement on Dr Omojunikanbi as released and published by the CU further reads:

"Omojunikanbi Alfred Oluwagbejami Is a Deputy Director and Head of Physiotherapy Department with one of Nigeria’s foremost tertiary health institutions - the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and Director of His Touch Physiotherapy services. He is the C.E.O of Prosperity and Posterity (P&P) Construction Company Nig. Ltd, Director at Comfort Akuyoma Ngozi Agu Foundation (CANAF) - a conflict/crises resolution NGO in the turbulent Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, Provost of Excellent Crown of Glory Bible College, President and Founder of His Excellency Ministries and one of Nigerian partners with Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s Ministries. Pastor Omojunikanbi has over 30 years experiences as a Physiotherapist in various organizations, having served as a consultant Physiotherapist with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), Total Petroleum Nigeria Limited, and many Public, Private and Cooperate Clinics and Specialist Hospitals. As a Sport Physiotherapist, he worked with the Nigeria National football team - Golden Eaglets, Nigeria Professional Football League clubs and has participated in major international tournaments like the African Wrestling Championship and All African games. He is a member of Nigerian Sports Association, Associate of the National Physiotherapy Postgraduate College of Nigeria (NPPCN), fellow Institute of Policy Management Development, Institute of Management Consultants, and Institute of Management Specialists. He has attended numerous post graduate courses in Nigeria and abroad, a lecturer in some management Institutions, a resource person to companies, schools and Organizations with many publications in academic journals and national dailies to his name."

Irene Muloni; Hon Muhammad Shehu, Chairman Nigeria's House of Representative Committee on Air force; Mr Elmi, Professor and Chancellor Rongo University, Kenya; Mr Dissie Yinager, Governor, National Bank of Ethiopia; prof Esogbue Augustine; Prof Etukudo Udobia; Hon Sebalu Mike, MP Uganda; the Chairman Board of Directors CRDB Bank, Tanzania, Mr Laay Hussein; Dom-Nwachukwu Ijeoma, Deputy Manager Industrial Relation Nigerian Agip; Hon Idris Asiwaju, Hon Commissioner of Finance Kogi State and Hon Akpo Williams, SA to Governor of Cross Rivers State amongst others.
