Breaking News: Constitution Review Postponed Again at 6th Quadrennial NANNM Conference

Posted on: Thu 27-10-2016

The proposed constitution review which held yesterday ended abruptly as the event was yet again postponed.

According to an insider who spoke to Nursingworld Nigeria and pleaded to remain annonymous, the the review commenced in the afternoon and got to a point when the delegates insisted that it was getting late and they were tired. Those who objected to the review also cited the low level of participation probably due to exhaustion and requested that the review be done properly without rushing. Subsequently, a motion was moved and supported by the northern delegates that the review be postponed till the first quarter of next year. According to him, only the southwest opposed the motion

Our source added that this is the third time that this constitution review has been aborted

Another delegate we spoke to at the event noted that delegates were exhausted and the entire pack to be reviewed was too voluminous and opinined that the organizers should have identified and isolated those sections which require review. He also wondered why the review was merged with an election and a sceintific conference

More details to come
