A self-acclaimed medical doctor, one Ishmeal, and an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) attached to Abia State command, identified as Eleazer, have been arrested for alleged theft and murder.
They were arrested along with one Kalaoru at Isiala-Ngwa in Abia State by detectives from the Delta State Police Command.
The suspects were alleged to be involved in the kidnap of a three-year-old boy, Ezra Obiri, and his mother, Ifowe on July 1 in Asaba, Delta State capital.
They were linked to the crime by one Josiah, who allegedly masterminded the kidnap.
Investigation revealed that Josiah invited the victims from Otor-Whre community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State and took them to an unknown place.

But police detectives, acting on a tip-off, arrested Josiah, who allegedly confessed to the crime and later led detectives to Isiala-Ngwa, where his co-suspects were arrested and the stolen child rescued.
Confirming the arrest yesterday in Asaba, Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, DSP Celestina Kalu, said preliminary investigation revealed that Josiah and one Obinna tricked “Ifowe and her son to Aba, Abia State, collected and sold the son and attempted to kill the mother by strangulation.”
She said investigation was in progress, while efforts had been intensified to arrest other suspects mentioned in connection with the crime. She added that the arrested suspects would soon appear in court.
Kalu could not however confirm the arrest of one Chukwulotem who had allegedly been parading himself as an army captain in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.
Chukwulotem was reportedly arrested by military officers who acted on a petition by an influential citizen of the community, and was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. SOURCE: http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=73390
