Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria 2018 Council Certification Examination Guidelines and Timetable

 

In pursuant of its mandate as enshrined in the enabling act to regulate Environmental Health Profession in Nigeria, the Council has been conducting annual certification examination for entrants into the profession of Environmental Health in Nigeria. The 2018 examination is scheduled to hold between 5th and 9th of November, 2018 at designated centres across the country

 

The cost of registration for the examination payable into the federal government TSA at any commercial bank is as follows

 

Environmental Health Officers/ Technologists N15000

Environmental Health Technicians N12,000

Environmental Health Assistants N10,000

Environmental Health Learning Centres Candidates N30,000

 

You are expected to compile the names of interested candidates, accept examination fees accompanied by duly completed application forms and forward same to the council before the close of work on the 31st august 2018. Late registration atracts a surcharge of 5,000naira on each candidate, and closes by the close of work on 14th september 2018

 

Henceforth, valid certificate for EHOs includes

i. degree result or HND result from NBTE accredited schools, accompanied with NYSC document (mobilizaiton, discharge, exemption/exclusion)

ii. WAHEB certificate or result list may still be considered for schools yet to be accredited

 

For Environmental Health Technicians and Asssistants, Council had earlier adopted the accreditation of NBTE for HND to cover the programs in those schools and had gone ahead to accredit the programs in other schools yet to obtain NBTE HND Accreditation. For schools in this category, council will accept the school result for EHT and EHA for council exam

ii. WAHEB certificate or result list may still be considered for the schools yet to be accredited by the council in those programs. All forms tht do not meet this condition shall be rejected and no money will be refunded. Furthermore, the minimum number of candidates to make up an examination centre remains fifty

 

In view of the failure rate in previous examinations, it is recommended that all candidates are exposed to a minimum of eight weeks intensive revision programs organized by colleges/ schools of health technology and accredited environmental health learning centers to enable them refresh their knowledge preparatory to sitting for the examinations

 

You are enjoined to bring this information to the notice of concerned EHOs, EHTs and EHAs interested in taking the Examination in your institution. It is acceptable to the council if registration for this examination is organised by your school in collaboration with the Environmental Health Officers Association in your state
