The permanent secretary of the federal ministry of health Linus Awute mni has taken a stand on frequent requests seeking clarification on the entry point for house officers. He shed more light on the issue in a circular dated 29th July 2015 with Ref No.C.2262/T/109 and addressed to all chief medical directors/ medical directors and Federal tertiary health institutions.
The circular Titled "Explanatory Note on House officers entry point" was made available to medicalworldnigeria.com by an annonymous source, it reads:
Owing to the preponderances of letters seeking clarification on the above subject matter, believed to be one of the issues in the matter concerning the ongoing strike, it should be noted for clarification that 1) The entry point of house officers is CONMESS 1 Step 1 as contained in Circular No. HCSF/SPSO/ODD/B.64995 dated 1st August 2014. This is equivalent to the basic salary of CONHESS 9 Step 4
2) All allowances remains as contained in circular No: SWC/S/04/S.176/Vol.11/466 dated 3rd January 2014 and other relevant circulars as applicable.
Accept the assurances of my best regards
