
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Public Health; Communications and Media Arts;
- Marketing; or a relevant field
- At least nine (9) years professional experience with at least seven (7) years progressive experience in developing mass communication campaigns in international health and/or development programs at national or international level.
- 5-7 years of experience in implementing and managing national health communication SBCC programs in developing countries
- Previous managerial experience is essential; ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision Knowledge of state of the art social and behavior change communication models and strategies and their practical application to malaria as well as technical knowledge in these fields.
The Knowledge Management Specialist. will work to deliver a sustainable and progressive strategy to educate project team members, decision makers, inform donors,' provide partners with relevant and up-to-date information and inform the global health community and general public about the project's contribution to the Nigeria Malaria Elimination efforts. S/he will develop and lead a strategy, collaboration with partners and malaria stake holders in Nigeria, to broaden and achieve a comprehensive knowledge base which will heighten the exposure of malaria elimination efforts:' s/he will establish website, review, develop and regularly update the data. S/he will developan.lntranet system for project partners to encourage discussions, sharing of experiences and ifpossible social media platforms; s/he will develop a database of all stakeholders and partners working on malaria elimination in Nigeria ensuring quality, accuracy and its capability to inform·and educate the project team, partners and NMEPI decision makers about gaps to achieving the malaria elimination targets; S/he will develop a circulation database for the dissemination of all communication/documentation relating to the project and malaria elimination efforts internally and externally; S/he will engage under the direction of the Chief of Party identified key partners and stakeholders to establish potential areas of collaboration;
- BSc/BA in Public health, demography, business administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or its recognized equivalent with 7 - 9 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
- Or MS/MA degree in public health, demography, business administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or its recognized equivalent with 5 - 7 years relevant experience with international devdtocment programs. "
- Extensive experience and knowledge of public health, policy development and health systems reform in Nigeria
- Knowledge and experience in malaria prevention and control
- Experience working closely with ministries of health and government health systems
The Director/Senior Advisor. Monitoring & Evaluation. will oversee the monitoring and evaluation components of the project as well as program monitoring. Working closely with the Surveillance Advisor, slhe must develop monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) systems that include appropriate indicators, baseline data. targets, and a plan to evaluate performance and produce timely accurate and complete reports. Also, working closely with the Capacity Building Advisor, slhe must develop training plans to ensure training and skills transfer to the National Malaria Elimination Program at Federal, State and Local Government (LGA) levels. Sihe will contribute to and lead the design, development, planning. and implementation of project M&E technical strategies. This includes development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, papers, and intervention linked research; slhe will develop training strategies and tools for the transfer of needed M&E skills in design, development and implementation as well as other specific technical components; slhe will analyze data sets and technical assessment findings; and develop M&E work plans; slhe will work closely with the project team and National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) to ensure compatibility, consistency and coordination of The M&E project framework with the Nigeria Malaria Elimination Strategy and Nigeria Malaria Operational Plans among others; national and donor requirements; s/he will be responsible for providing technical assistance, developing and setting up systems for the timely collection, management, analysis, and reporting of valid and reliable data that meet donor reporting requirements; slhe will focus on strengthening the M&E system, building capacity of partners and staff, and improving alignment and support to host-country M&E systems; and undertake periodic reviews of program andlor country M&E systems, and participate in planning M&E system strengthening actions. Provide guidance on information systems for quality assurance, as well as best practices documentation and reporting.
- Minimum of Post-graduate degree in public health - Epidemiology, biostatistics or a relevant field;
- Minimum 8 years' experience. with progressively increasing level of responsibility in developing countries - experience in Africa desirable:
- Demonstrated expertise in rigorous quantitative and qualitative research and analytical methods;
- Demonstrated hands-on practical experience setting up and managing MER systems for health programs - experience with malaria MER systems desired;
- Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills, including oral presentation skills;
The Capcaicty Building Advisor will support the design and implementation capacity building initiatives of the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) at all levels - Federal, State and LGA; as well as malaria stakeholders, including developing curricula, organizing and coordinating training events, workshops, and providin~ technical assistance on all aspects of malaria program management. The Capacity BUIlding Advisor will assist the project intervene in key areas including but not limited to institutional . strengthening, especially: logistics - planning, budgeting and reviews, lnstitutionahzlng integrated supportive supervision (1SS), strengthening stakeholder coordination and harmonization activities and strengthening supply chain management. S/he will support the design and implementation of needs assessments for the NMEP, State and LGA levels and develop an overall capacity-building strategy that will sustainably enhance the capacity of and Strengthen the Malaria institutions, policy makers, service providers and overs; slhe will coordinate the design and implementation nf curricula, interactive training interventions, and individualized technical assistance for local malaria institutions, partners and stakeholders; s/he will coordinate the delivery of individualized technical assistance to the NMEP, State, LGA and Wards malaria programs and other stakeholders the areas of technical expertise and skills in malaria; s/he will strengthen the organizational management, policy development, coordination supply chain management and other areas as required;
- Bachelor's degree or its intemational equivalent in international development, or a related field with minimum of nine (9) years experience in international development programs;
- MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 5 to 7 years relevant experience in malaria program;
- Minimum five (5) years of experience providing capacity-building support through health programs (with a specific focus on malaria is preferred);
- At least three (3) years of project management and/or supervisory experience;
- Experience providing technical capacity strengthening around local institutions
