Haven of Light Schools is a full boarding institution for boys and girls located in a quiet serene neighborhood in idunwele, Ewu, Esan Central LGA, Edo State. Haven of Light Schools has two standby power generators for the entire compound, reliable internet connectivity, adequate buildings for classrooms, science laboratory, and home economics all enclosed within a secure fence wall.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Residential Matron

Responsibilities

• Prepare hostels at start and end of each term
• Daily supervise pupils in the hostels
• Pupil rosters preparation for house chores
• Identify maintenance needs and submit job requests
• Supervise workmen carrying out repairs, ensuring work is completed satisfactorily.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the hostel
• Encourage the pupils to eat a healthy diet
• Maintaining and managing records, inventories and funds as directed
• Supervise use of the kitchen facilities at various times
• Liaise with kitchen for provisions and manage the feeding budget as stipulated by the Catering Management
• Responsible for the medical welfare of the pupils in the House together with the nurse on duty
• Responsible for administering pupil medication in-line with School guidelines and in accordance with medical/nursing staff
• Ensuring pupil take medication
• Keeping medication securely stored away
• Keeping accurate records of medication
• Reside within school premises just before, during and just after each school term to ensure the house is ready for children.
• On duty whilst in residence.

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in working with children
• First aid qualification.

• Warm and caring disposition
• Ability to provide a welcoming environment
• Well organised and professional in approach
• Ability to deal with emergencies calmly
• Experience using Microsoft Office and willing to Improve
• Responsible for welfare / health of all boarding pupils alongside Teacher on duty
• Shall support activities programme organised by school management
• Reports to Vice Principal
