Following the lifting of the suspension earlier placed on the residency training programme for medical doctors and the intention of the federal government to reappraise it, the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP) has advised the federal government to expand the programme to include other categories of the health professionals.
President of NUAHP, Felix Faniran, made the call at a media briefing in Abuja, at the weekend.
Faniran called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate alleged corruption in the health sector.
The group is asking for the overhauling of the residency training programme as well as the inclusion of other health professionals.
