International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and medical relief programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, non-political, non-sectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.
 
IMC started operations in Nigeria with a focus on building the capacity of local health system and communities and ensure the provision of quality, accessible health and nutrition care for children under five years. The Government of Nigeira declared a state of emergency (SoE) in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states in the north eastern part of the country in 2013. Since the SOE was declated, there has been asignificant increase internally displaced persons in the northeas! International Medical Corps has launched an emergency response in Northeas! to assess and address the needs of the affected populations..
 
GBV Programm Officer - (Maiduguri)
 
 
Background and Experience
•  Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Science, Social Work, Business, Public Health, Gender Studies, or other related field
•  3-5 years professional experience in social services sector: experience working with international non-government organizations in sectors focusing on gender, women's empowerment, and/or violence prevention
•  Minimum 1-2 years program management level experience and/or professional experience 
•  Demonstrated experience in partnerships coordination and management of local subgranted organizations 
•  Demonstrated experience in capacity building for local organizations
•  Strong understanding of gender, human rightsm and issues surrounding violence against women and girls 
•  Demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating trainings a d workshops tailored for individuals from a variety of professional and education approaches metrics, nad tools to determine the effectiveness of the training in meeting target onjectives essential 
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•  Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and emial 
•  Ability to work with minimal supervision
