You will recall the ongoing industrial action of the joint health sector union (JOHESU), which commenced on midnight of november 12th 2014 and which has disrupted healthcare service delivery in federal tertiary health institutions.

Information reaching us is that whilst some JOHESU Union members have suspended the strike on humanitarian grounds in some hospitals, others are still not reporting for duty despite the security challenges in the country.

The labour law states that "No Work No Pay" for officers in the public service who do not report for duty. Previous federal ministry of health circulars have requested for information on the status of the situation of staff not reporting for duty in your institution regarding this strike.

You are by this circular requested to forward within 24hours the list of staff that are not reporting for duty as documented at your end. For those reporting for duty you are to confirm some by including proof of names and signatures in the daily attendance register of your hospital.
