The ultimatum issued by JOHESU two weeks ago which would have led to an industrial action on Monday 19th May 2014 has been extended by two weeks. This was made known to a medicalworld nigeria correspondent in a phone chat with the national president of the association of medical laboratory scientists of nigeria and the assemblies of all health professionals in Nigeria Dr G.C. Okara
Dr Okara maintained that the associations had signed a document with the government after they pleaded for more time within which they would attend to our requests. He added that because we wanted to hold them down with a committment bearing their signature we agreed to allow for the extension as a matter of strategy.
He added that the next meeting with the government has been scheduled for the fifth of June as he confirmed that the medical laboratory intern enhanced entry point circular had been released with some grey areas to be corrected.
He confirmed that if by the end of the extension and the outstanding issues were not addressed, We would be left with no option that to address the press and commemnce immediate action.
