LAUTECH Inducts 74 New Nurses

Seventy-four new nurses have been inducted into the profession by the management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso in Oyo State.
 
Speaking during the induction ceremony for the new nurses, the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Prof Bayo Ajibade, described the quality of training, which the new nurses underwent, as comparable to what is obtainable in other parts of the world.
 
Ajibade urged the nurses to make a difference and impact positively on the health sector.

“Respect patients’ rights to privacy and confidentiality. As medical practitioners, you owe a duty of confidentiality to all those who are receiving care. This includes making sure that they are informed about their care and that information about them is shared appropriately among health care team members.
 
“Always practice in line with the best evidence by making sure that any information or advice given is evidence-based. Communicate clearly by using terms that people in your care, colleagues and public can understand,” he said. The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Michael Ologunde, said the institution would be repositioned for greater impact.
