This award was conferred on her for her distinguished service to the Nursing Profession. As a milestone, Nurse Akpuelu who is over 70 years of age has spent over 60 of those years at Mater Misericordia and when asked why, she simply said "I love Nursing"

From Umuota village Obosi in Idemili North LGA Anambra State, Dr. Benson is presently a Lecturer/Chief Consultant Pediatrician/Neonatal/Infectious Disease Specialist/Vaccinologist at Ebony State University/FETHA. He is also the training coordinator for FETHA for Clinical Care and Research Nigeria Training Center and is the 2013 recipient of the Health Service Award by Obosi Development Union Enugu.

From Nkpor Idemili North LGA Anambra State, Dr. Brown is the Senior Lecturer Obstetrics and Gynecology EBSU, Head of Endocrinology and Infertility Unit FETHA and a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.

Dr. Agama Egwu (MDDS, FMCS, FICS)

From Ekoli Edda, Afikpo South LGA, Dr. Agama is the Head Department of Surgery, Chief Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon FETHA and Lecturer 1 in Orthopaedic Surgery Department of Surgery EBSU. As the HOD, he is said to have transformedthe clinical services & training and research programme of the resident Doctors to the extent that the department of surgery has the best record of success at the post raduate medical colleges fellowship exams.

Dr. Ezeokpo Basil Chukwuma (MB. Bs.FMCP)
Award: Vocational Service Award
A native of Umuaga-Udi in Enugu State, Dr Basil joined the duo of Prof Onuaguluchi and Prof Anaezi Okoro to start the department of Medicine. Today he doubles as a lecturer in Internal Medicine and HOD for the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He is the Current HOD for the Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Paul Olisaemeka Ezeonu (Medical Director FMC Abakiliki)
Award: Community Service Award
A native of Oraeri town, Aguta LGA of Anambra State, Dr. Ezeonu is a developer, leads by example kind of person, a motivator and a producer by nature who is uncomfortable with non-productivity. Under him as MD, the Hospital has been upgraded with many departments being accredited to train resident doctors with tremendous success in the post graduate training of doctors.

Princess Osinachi Buchi-Chukwu
Award: Humanitarian Service Award
Mrs Osinachi Buchi-Chukwu is the President of the MAter Medic Association, an association of wives of Medical Doctors. She now works as a manager in the public Affairs department of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Abuja. She is also married to Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu who is currently the Honourable Minister of Health, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
