The Association of Resident Doctors, Lagos University Teaching hospitals, LUTH, chapter has raised alarm over what they described as "poor infrastructure, poorly defined job specification and irregular payment of salaries by the hospital management."
The doctors, who complained of lack of template for residency training and obsolete equipment said that such irregularities have continued to frustrate their efforts to deliver effective healthcare services.
Speaking through their President, Dr. Akinkunmi Afolabi, the doctors expressed worry over deduction in their salaries in which only 60 to 70 per cent of their salaries are eventually paid.

"While our colleagues in other centres have enjoyed 100 per cent salaries for several months, the value of arrears continue to nosedive with worsening economic situation."
Afolabi called on the Minister of Health, Budget Office and other well-meaning Nigerians to intervene before it leads to industrial action.
The intervention he said is critical because of the unprecedented hardship on ARD members.
