NOTICE TO ALL FOREIGN TRAINED MEDICAL GRADUATES WHO PASSED THE COUNCIL’S ASSESSMENT EXAMINATION HELD ON THE 3RD, 4TH AND 8TH OCTOBER, 2014 AT UNIVERSITY OF BENIN TEACHING HOSPITAL COMPLEX, BENIN CITY.
Following your success at the above stated examination and subsequent information supplied with regards to your provisional registration, please be informed that you would be allocated a folio number and provisional registration number: (five digit number). The Folio number serves as your user name when you visit the Council’s website www.mdcn.gov.ng.
The following steps are to be taken to complete the registration process:
- Go to and click on the registered doctors’ login
- Click on lost password, and you will be sent an automated email informing you of your password which you could change for security reasons.
- Register your information on the online form starting from:
- Contact Information (personal data and especially permanent residential address)
- Registration (Folio Number, Provisional number and date of registration)
- Education (Primary, Secondary, Clinical Tertiary, Medical school, year of graduation and qualification)
- Upload your recent passport photograph with all your features clearly shown, Not full pictures: This is very important
- Go ahead and make the following payment online using your ATM Card:

5. Please note that this registration process is not applicable to expatriate doctors who trained in foreign institutions. These expatriates’ doctors are to visit the Medical and Dental Council Secretariat, Abuja to complete their Temporary registration.
6. However, all doctors both Nigerian and expatriate doctors who were successful are to pay a total fee of N53,000 as detailed above.
