Lagos State University Teaching Hospital LASUTH Community Health and Primary Health-care Department got well done pat on the back from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria on accreditation tour of the department in the hospital.

 

The Council at the debriefing after its tour led by Prof. Obeying Okojie from the University of Benin expressed satisfaction at the state of facilities and human capacity for the teaching of public health in LASUTH adding that the Agbowa Community Health Centre was an indication of positive teaching effort.

 

"What we have seen is very pleasing and we are not surprised because this is Lagos State. We are equally happy about the training centre in Agbowa and the level of staffing but hope that few cases of offices and the likes will be sorted out in a short time", Okojie pointed. 

 

Chief Medical Director, Prof. Wales Oke described the teams comments as heartwarming and kind promising to keep the good works up and also attend to areas noted for improvement. Other members of the accreditation team include Prof. Chika-Ike Ogbonna from University of Jos and Prof. Academic Onayade of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
