I wish to formally inform you of the resolution adopted at the 5th plenary meeting of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria held on thursday 19th march, 2015 on the upward review of the annual practising license fees. As you aware the review became necessary in view of the need to increase the revenue base for the sustainability of the council. Currently government subvention is almost zero apart from personnel cost.
The resolution is to take with the payment of renewal of practising fees for 2016 practice year. All practitioners below 10 years post graduation will henceforth pay N15,000 only while practitioners above 10years will pay N30,000 only.
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria will place advertisement in the National dailies and on its website to further disseminate the new rates as soon as the minister of health approves the resolution as required by the medical and dental practitioners Act.
