Medical Lab Council Gets E-Payment Platform

As part of efforts to ease the process of making payments and bring improved convenience to payers, the Medical Laboratory Science Concil of Nigeria (MLSCN), yesterday, officially took delivery of Remita, a modular e-Payment, e-Collections, e-Payroll, and e-Schedules solution on a single multibank platform developed by Systemspecs Limited.
The Remita platform presents individuals and organisations with a very simple and intuitive user intricate multi-party payment flows band, and was adopted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the payment and collections of funds on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria and used by all 22 commercila banks and over 400 micro finance banks in the country.
At a formal handover ceremony at the MLSCN headquarters in Abuja, business development manager Systemspecs Limited Abuja, and Northern Operations, Mr Iliya Musa, said the platform would provide the over 20,000 members of the Council with multiple channels for making payment as they could make payments to MLSCN at any branch of any bank that was listed on the platform.
He said part of the objective of the project was to improve administrative and operational efficency of the organisation through proactive electronic invoicing of individual and corporate members, streamlining collection of fees and dues through multiple channels, ensuring prompt collection of funds into authorised MLSCN's account. timely provision of comprehensive transaction reports for effective decision making and full compliance with FGN e-payment & e-collections initiative. 
Also speaking, Head Colections, Sustemspecs Limited Jack Akpan informed that the MLSCN clients could also use multi-channel collections platforms like banks'Internet banking site, credit/debit card pay by Renita (for registered Remita users), in addition to also paying with Mobile Wallets, Direct Debit/Standing Order and micro finance banks
