Eligibility for Application: The applicant must be a registered Associate of Council with current practicing license and is not facing any charge of professional misconduct.
2. A Medical Laboratory scientist with 10 years of Post-M.Sc. qualification cognate experience and fifteen (15) relevant scientific publications in indexed Journals may be considered for the award of Fellowship of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
3. A Medical Laboratory scientist with 10 years of Post-PhD qualification cognate experience and twelve (12) relevant scientific publications in indexed Journals may be considered for the award of Fellowship of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
4. The Medical Laboratory Scientist should be the lead author in at least 50% of the indexed publications.

1. Fellowship through published works holds the standards, rights, privileges and obligations that are equivalent to those who have obtained Fellowship through the examination route and through submission of Thesis.
2. The standard of professional practice in Medical Laboratory Science research is required to be equivalent to the standard required by examination in diagnostic Medical Laboratory Science.
3. The applicant must have read the eligibility requirements and ensure that he/she meets the requirements before attempting to apply.
4. There must be a sponsor who shall be a Fellow of MLSCN in the applicant’s discipline and in good standing with Council.
5. The published works are to be listed and numbered serially.
6. The publications to be submitted are those that have shown significant contributions to knowledge and practice of Medical Laboratory Science Professions in the
discipline the award of Fellowship is being sought.
7. If the publications have diverse contributions to knowledge, they shall be grouped according to the area of specialty which each group makes significant contribution to the practice of the Medical Laboratory Science Profession. However it is advisable that applicants submit publications relevant to their area of interest/specialty.
8. The publications shall be arranged in reverse order of date format such that the most recent date comes first and followed by the next.
9. The applicant shall state his/her personal contribution in each of the publications submitted. This can be estimated and scored in percentage under the relevant column of the table in the application form. The Sponsor is to concur with the applicant’s claim if convinced that the claim is correct or give his/her opinion based on his/her observation.
10. The applicant shall state in not more than 500 words, his/her significant contributions to knowledge and practice of Medical Laboratory Science Profession (in the area Fellowship is to be awarded) from the submitted published works and justify why he/she should be awarded fellowship of Council by published works.
11. The applicant shall get an endorsement from a sponsor who shall be a registered fellow of the Council. The Sponsor must review the publications of the candidate.
12. The publications shall be submitted bound in colours and format approved by Council for Fellowship by thesis for relevant discipline as currently in use with the inscription “ These Publications are submitted to Medical Laboratory Science Council Of Nigeria in fulfillment of requirements for the award of Fellowship of Medical laboratory science Council of Nigeria in …………(State Discipline e.g Chem. Path, Haematology etc.)”
13. Payment of prescribed application fee.
14. The applicant shall submit CV, relevant academic credentials, 2 Passport photographs and completed application form downloaded from Council website; www.mlscn.gov.ng
15. The papers shall be peer-assessed for originality and contribution to knowledge.
16. The peer-reviewed pass mark shall be 60%.
