Due to dwindling allocation and revenue generation, Nasarawa State government has abolished its free healthcare policy meant for pregnant women, under-five children and the elderly. The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Dalhatu Arafat Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Dr. Hassan Ikrama, said it was no longer possible to sustain the free healthcare policy.
He made this known to journalists when the correspondent’s chapel under the leadership of Chief Issac Ukpoju visited him yesterday at his office in Lafia. He, however, revealed further that his administration, with the support of Governor Abdullahi Sule upgraded health facilities and services in the state tremendously.
