NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME (NHIS)
In March 2014, President GoodluckEbele Jonathan made a declaration of Nigeria's commitment to Universal Health Coverage (UHC), recognising that UHC holds the key to unlicking the door for equitable, qualitative and universally accessible healthcare for all Nigerians, without financial hardship.
Inspired by Mr. President, NHIS activated some new initiatives in the last one year that resulted in the addition of two million lives to our enrolee data base, which is 40% of the totale enrolee figure for the previous 8 years!

In December 2014, he strengthened the possibilities by signing into law, the National Health Bill, which comes with the potential for changing the healthcare landscape of our dear country forever.
Today, as the world observes Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) joins Mr. President and all Nigerians to celebrate the possibilities of UHC!
