Speaking at the second convocation ceremony of the School of Post-Basic Psychiatric Nursing at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, he urged the graduating nurses to prepare them-selves for service in rural areas.
The governor, who expressed government's readiness to collaborate with the hospital in the area of training, urged the hospital to help provide solution to increasing rate of drug abuse in the state and country.
In his remarks, Medical Director of Neuro-psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Taiwo Lateef Sheikh, said the facility lacks funds to treat indigent patients, adding that patients abandoned by care givers leave the hospital with a monthly debt of over N600,000.
Dr. Sheikh, who solicited financial support from the state government, noted that the hospital is in crisis as a result of dwindling subvention from the federal government.
