The Nigeria Labour Congress has urged the Federal Government to provide safe environment for health workers involved in the battle against the spread of the Ebola virus in the country.
The Congress also called on the government to secure the citizenry against the deadly virus.
In a communiqué issued after its National Executive Committee meeting in Enugu on Friday, the Congress hailed the Federal Government for taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus in the country.
The communiqué, by the NLC President, Abdulwahed Omar, and Acting-General Secretary, Chris Uyot, read, “The NEC noted the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the country and the panic it continues to wreak.
“It commended the Federal Government for the proactive measures it has taken and urged it to do all that is necessary to secure the entire populace while creating safe work place safety for the exposed health care personnel battling to control its spread.”
