PROFESSOR PAUL OGBUEHI MEMORIAL PROJECT (NEWS)
On the occasion of the one year memorial of our patriarch and the founding father of optometric education in Nigeria, the late Distinguished Professor Paul Olekanma Ogbuehi, may I brief you on the progress we have made in respect of the Memorial Eye Clinic we undertook to build in his honour.

A four-man ad hoc Project Committee has been constituted with members including:
Dr. Nkem Okoroafor——-Chairman
Dr. Paschal Obi
Dr. Joy Alozie
Dr. Emmanuel Nwaji———–Secretary

Also, necessary preliminaries have been concluded (see attached) and the National Executive Council (NEC) passionately calls on all members (old, young, public, private, employer, employee, Nigeria-based, in diaspora, etc.) to unite in making this project a physical reality by keying in and giving all the necessary support to the Project Committee.

Contributions of various kinds are welcomed; group/corporate/individual part-sponsorship of the project, year-of-graduation sets/class unified donations, pro-optometric groups’ donations, individual donations, etc. Also, we can help facilitate/refer donations from governments and parastatals, multinational corporations and companies (CSR), and other public-spirited entities.

Professor Paul Olekanma Ogbuehi’s sacrifices benefitted us all and even generations to come. We owe it to appreciate by honouring him. Let’s join hands in building this least-befitting legacy in his honour for the benefit of humanity. His family, his community, Abia state, Nigeria, the global optometric community and the entire world look up to us in this regard. We cannot afford to let our patriarch and ourselves down.

Big “Thank you” in advance for answering very strongly and standing up to be counted when we called upon you.
