The National Lottery Trust Fund on Tuesday handed over a fully-equipped isolation centre in Daura to Katsina State Government, promising to present similar centres to Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa and Lagos states, for the use of COVID-19 patients and those suffering similar ailments.
The Daura isolation centre has, among other equipment, five ventilators, household electronics, including television sets and refrigerators, waiting rooms and personal protective equipments for health care professionals, who will be attending to patients.
The Executive Secretary of the trust fund, Dr Bello Maigarin, said the gesture was the agency’s contribution towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Maigarin said, “Our intervention in Daura and in some parts of the country that we are going to do very soon should be seen as our own way of rallying around Nigeria in this hour of need. We have, by our action, put lottery money into good use.’’
