The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is pleased to announce the opening of online abstract submission for the ICN 2018 Regional Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). With the theme Nurses: A Voice to Lead - Ensuring Access to Healthcare through Leadership, Innovation, and Collaborative Practice, the Regional Conference will take place from 25-27 September 2018, co-hosted by the Emirates Nursing Association and in collaboration with the SEHA International Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health conference.
“This inaugural regional conference will be a key step in ICN’s strategy to strengthen its regional work,” said Professor Thomas Kearns, ICN’s Interim Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful to Aysha Al Mehri, ENA President and to the Emirates Nursing Association for working with us to make this exciting event a reality.”

The Call for abstracts and details on the themes to be addressed can be accessed at http://www.icn.ch/events/Regional-Conference-UAE-September-2018/. ICN invites nurses and others in the Middle East region to share their ideas, research and expertise by submitting abstracts for the scientific programme. The deadline for abstract submission is 10 May 2018.
ICN is developing a rich three-day scientific programme focusing on a wide variety of topics, including non-communicable diseases and patient safety; innovative models of patient care; transition from acute to community care; global updates on infection control and prevention; mental health needs and challenges in the region; migration and workforce development; introducing a positive practice environment in the region; evidence based practice and artificial intelligence and healthcare informatics.
Key dates for the ICN 2018 Regional Conference
• 10 April 2018 - Online submission of abstracts opens
• 10 May 2018 - Online abstract submission closes (midnight CET)
• 10 June 2018 – Notification of abstract acceptance
• 28 June 2018 – Registration deadline for abstract presenters
