The Governing Council of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) has appointed a new registrar to pilot the affairs the council for the next few year.
He is Pharmacist Nurudeen A. Elijah Mohammed. This was the outcome of the 36th regular meeting of the PCN.
The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) is the Federal Government Agency established by Act P17, LFN, 2004 and charged with the regulation and control of pharmacy education, training and practice in all aspects including the regulation of Patent and Proprietary Medicines Vendors.
Mohammed is a 1984 Pharmacy graduate of University of Benin, Edo State.
He also holds a Master of Science in Health Management from the University of Lagos and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State.
He is a certified Professional Manager of Nigerian Institute of Management.
Before his appointment as the Registrar of PCN, Mohammed was the General Manager of SWISS Biostadt Limited, a Life Science Company based in Lagos.
He also had a stint in the development of health policy and implementation with the Federal Ministry of Health and related local and international Agencies.
He was at a time the National Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).
The new PCN registrar is a recipient of the 2011 FIP Congress Travel Grant, an annual grant awarded by the Federation of International Pharmaceutical (FIP) Foundation for Education and Research.
A widely travelled Pharmacist, Mohammed is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and Member of other organizations including Nigerian Institute of Management.
He is happily married and has children.
