Resolutions of the 5th Nigerian Medical Association NOC Meeting

Following an extensive deliberations at her regular meeting, the NOC arrived at the following resolutions: 
 
1. On Physician's week 2016 the meeting resolves that there shall be a road walk throughout the country on Wednesday 26th of October, 2016. The road walk is aimed to draw the attention of government to implement National Health Act 2014. The NGO and CSO should be mobilized throughout the Federation for that purpose. 
 
2. On skipping and relativity the meeting observed the ongoing development and resolved that relativity is sacrosanct and rejected any attempt at salary harmonization since disparity is not exclusive to medical and health professions. 
 
3. On Lagos issue, the meeting observed the efforts of the Care Taker Committee on Lagos zone to conduct a credible election and therefore approved on behalf NEC the 4 days extension requested by the CTC. 
 
4. On NMA games the meeting directed the committee on NMA games to kick start the zonal preparation with immediate effect. 
 
5. On December NEC to be hosted by Kogi NMA branch, the meeting approved 4th to 11th December, 2016 as the dates for the meeting. 
 
6. On NMJ Editor tenure, the meeting observed that the renewal is due to end in December 2016. The performance of the Editor In Chief was applauded by all. The NOC therefore CALLS for application from interested and qualified members to serve as NMJ Editor. The secretariat will release
 
7. The committee congratulated the new leadership of NARD and calls for a better relationship between NMA and NARD. NOC wishes the current leadership of NARD a successful tenure.
 
8. Finally, the NOC welcomes all the participants to the first NMA Leadership retreat scheduled for 24th september 2016 and calls on state branches to organize step down intheir respective states.
 
The meeting appreciated the support enjoyed from all members and calls on all to maintain the tempo.
