Jhpiego an affiliate of John Hopkins University is a global leader in improving healthcare services for women and their families. In collaboration with some partners like save the children foundation, pediatric association of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Neonatal medicine, Society of gyneacology and obstetrics of Nigeria, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives will be implimenting a USAID funded global cooperative agreement called Maternaland Child Survival Program. The goal is to contribute significantly to ending preventable maternal and child deaths in Nigeria. The five year project which started in OCT 2014 end in Sept 2019 and will be implimented in Kogi and Ebonyi States. Jhpiego hereby invites applications from highly resourceful, experienced and dynamic professionals for the underlisted positions:
. Senior Family Planning Advisor (Abuja- 1 position)
The senior family planning advisor will provide leadership in the MCSP project office for the scale up access and quality of postparpatum family planning in kogi and ebonyi state. Specificaly the FP/RH advisor will provide technical assistance to build capacity for the accelerated development and implementation of postpartum contraception in the two states with responsibilities including:
. Improving the cae and treatment within FP for further integration of long acting reversible contraception (LARC) by improving management of this aspect of FP
. Advising on interventions for adverse LARC response
. Planning and coordinating trainings
. medicalworldnigeria
. Expanding PPIUD uptake through strengthened capacity for monitoring progras and strengthening supported supervision
. Intensifying other processes around PPIUD case indentification, counseling and these services through the strengthening of distric, health center and community FP/RH coordinating committees around PPIUD usage
. Strengthening M&E of FP/RH data collection and analysis
. The advisor will also be responsible for writing and/or reviewing technical components of materials and publications related to the project and its development and working closely with the technical advisory core team as well as the MOH to ensure harmonization of implementations.
. The advisor will also work with other technical staff in the office to impleament maternal health activities in the MCSP project

Post:
. A Nurse/Midwife
Required Qualifications, Knowlegde and skills
. Minimum of 5-7yrs experience in family planning counseling and services
. Working on a CDC or USAID funded project will be an added advantage
. Mid to senior level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, complex, community level FP/RH projects.
. Familiarity with FMOH, SMOH structures and functions especialy as it relates to FP/RH is highly desirable
. Experience in managing and supervising projects technical/facility staff
. Ability to multitask will be highly desirable
. Extensive experience with microsoft office suite (word processing, excel, power point) is a requirement
. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and fluency in english language.
