Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday urged nurses to serve humanity with dedication to save lives. Obaseki spoke at a sensitisation event as part of the activities to mark the 2020 International Nurses’ Day in Benin.
The governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Health, Patrick Okundia, promised that his administration would continue to promote the welfare of nurses and other health care professionals.
He said, “Quality health care cannot be achieved without skilled health care professionals such as nurses. This administration will continue to promote the welfare of nurses and other health care professionals.”
Director of Nursing Services, Edo State, Mrs Enunwaonye Alex, said, “This programme is solely organised by nurses is to inform the general public that nurses are championing good health care system. They should eat nourished food, use insecticide treated bed nets.”
The Chairman, National Association of Nurses and Midwives, Edo State Council, Catherine Eseine, urged the people not to patronise quacks.
