• Department of Internal Medicine
• Department of Community Health
• Department of Radiology

• Department of Ophthalmology
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS: PROFESSOR:CONUASS07
.:. Candidates must possess Fellowship degrees in the related clinical disciplines or/and Masters and PhDs in Allied Health Sciences.
.:. The possession of requisite basic degrees that are registerable by relevant professional bodies is required for those applying to related Faculties and Departments.
.:. Candidates must possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of teaching and research experience in the University.
.:. Must have substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals at least twenty four (24) recognized publications.
.:. The ability to initiate and direct research projects
.:. Must have spent three (3) years as a Reader .
.:. Possession of considerable length of administrative experience
READER: CONUASS 06
.:. Candidates must possess Fellowship degrees in the related clinical disciplines or and Masters and PhDs in Allied Health Sciences .
.:. The possession of requisite basic degrees that are registerable by relevant professional bodies is required for those applying to related Faculties an Departments .
.:. Candidates must possess a minimum often (10) years of teaching and research experience in the University .
.:. At least eighteen (20) recognized publications, all of which must have been published, with at least five (5) in a reputable foreign journals .
.:. Must show academic leadership through postgraduate supervision .
.:. Must be ready to lead research groups within the department and the University
.:. Must have spent three (3) years as Senior Lecturer.
SENIOR LECTURER /SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW: CONUASS 05
.:. Candidates must possess Fellowship degrees in the related clinical disciplines OR and Masters and PhDs in Allied Health Sciences .
.:. The possession of requisite basic degrees that are registerable by relevant professional bodles is required for those applying to related Faculties and Departments .
.:. Candidates must possess a minimum of six (6) years of teaching and research experience in the University.
.:. The candidates must have substantial publications in reputable journals at least ten (10) recognized publications, eight (8) of which must actually have been published .
.:. Candidates must have the ability to initiate research and to mentor junior staff and students .
.:. Must have spent three (3) years as Lecturer I.
LECTURER/ RESEARCH FELLOW (GRADE I&Il): CONUASS 04 &. 3
Candidates must have at least a second class (Upper Division) Honour Degree/MBBS or BchD and in addition to the basic and postgraduate clinical qualifications listed above. He/She must have at least three (3) years' experience in Teaching and Research in a University or an equivalent institution, and some Published articles in reputable Journals. Candidates with good MBBS or BchD degrees can only seek Lecturer II positions in the non-clinical Departments. They must show proof of additional scholarship and willingness to participate in research in the Departments they are applying to.
ASSISTANT LECTURER/JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW: Candidates must have at least a second class (Upper Division) Honours Degree and in addition, a Masters degree in relevant discipline.
GRADUATE ASSISTANTS: Candidates must have graduated with Honours degrees in the Sciences from a recognized University.
