Posted on: Sun 11-09-2016

Great Comrades, arising from the JOHESU meeting on Friday 9th Sept 2016 after taking a critical look of the matters on ground and the way govt relates with JOHESU on those issues, we resolved as follow.

1. The open letter as written to the President FRN will be published in the National dailies by 22nd Sept. 2016.

2. JOHESU will undertake media blitz both at local and National levels to educate members of the public on issues of our demand and our impending actions pleading with them to prevail on the govt.

3. A 30-day ultimatum be given to govt from 30th September to address the pending issues including the wrong implementation of no work no pay and the ambiguous promotion been canvassed by FMOH. The 30days was given to accommodate the two new matters captured above and also to consider the request of NANNM for their delegate conference toward October ending.

4. JOHESU members are to engage on mass protest nationwide including Abuja on 18th October 2016 for the public to be sensitized before hand..

5. JOHESU will reply the SGF and make our position known on the issue of indiscriminate imposition of no work no pay during strike which is an unfair labour practice.

6. A follow up letter will be written to the FMOH to stop stagnating our members with their latest promotion formulae and moving round the country to confuse issues.

7. Special complaints to be raised in respect of under employment of our members leading to overwork, while the Medical practitioners are employed in numbers in our hospitals even plaguing the whole place with them (university staff) and imposing them on our members against the rules.

8. Members are to send the statistics of the staff strength of their various establishments to the National Secretariat comparing the number of Medical practitioners to other health workers. Also compile the number of Honorary consultants (medical practitioners) from the university to the hospital based consultants within the next 21 days.

9. On the issue of JUTH, the case was reported at the NLC CWC meeting and it was captured in the communique where the brutality of the police on the peaceful staff protesters was condemned and compensations were asked for.

10. Other matters of interest were also discussed and members were encouraged to plan and be ready to make sacrifice to protect our legitimate rights by damning the consequence of no work no pay in case it is used while on strike as this is the only way positive results can be achieved eventually.

Please support your leaders to succeed. God bless you all.
