Medical Equipment Planner
Job description
Responsible for Medical Equipment Planning including room equipment lists, room data sheets, medical equipment loaded layouts, detailed room equipment layouts, specifications, pre-installation requirements.
• Responsible for electromechanical, structural and architectural coordination with the medical equipment planning
• Responsible for coordination with the architects for identifying correct room sizes and relationships with respect to medical equipment, safety, codes, staff and patient flows.
• Develops a comprehensive understanding of clients’ program requirements and standards and policies for completion in terms of medical equipment requirements.
• Understands project scope, plan, schedule and services and during the contract process. Translates planning concepts into project deliverables for clients, designers and project team members.
• Provides medical equipment technical knowledge in the design and planning of various-sized medical and healthcare facilities.
• Understands the design development, modification and/or review of medical equipment planning concepts and solutions.
• Understands overall project medical equipment related budgets and milestone schedules in coordination with project managers, architect and project engineers.
• Ensures project inter-disciplinary and quality control coordination
• Develops Medical Equipment Loaded drawings to communicate Equipment Layouts, work flows, Electromechanical and structural requirements for project documentation and construction.
• Prepares and modifies medical equipment planning documents, Equipment Schedules, Specifications, Bill of Quantities , etc.
• Anticipates and develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
• Actively seeks new knowledge in the design and planning of medical equipment.
• Expected to mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
Provision for accommodation and travel would be made for expatriates.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or and a medical related field preferred
• Clinical training with at least 6-8 years Healthcare Planning experience required
• Maintains effective communication with team members and the ability to interface with internal and external clients
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to service multiple projects at the same timeDemonstrated creativity, passion and interest in medical equipment design and planning of healthcare facilities.
• Detailed and up to date knowledge of progressive technical and regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities design and understanding of fundamental departmental organization and functionality.
• Possess basic hand and CAD drafting skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/ MEP / Architectural Desktop.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency in Revit or BIM is preferable.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Excellent problem solving and briefing skills
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to convey medical equipment planning needs to designers and other team members.
Travel is required
