OCTOBER 2013 PRIMARY, PARTS I & II (FINAL) FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATIONS

The October 2013 Fellowship Examinations of the west African College of Surgeons (WACS), in the Facultles of Anaesthesia, Dental Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, Radiology and Surgery, will be held from 18th to 28th October, 2013. 

THE PRIMARY EXAMINATIONS WILL HOLD ON FRIDAY 18th OCTOBER, 2013 IN FIVE CENTRES AS FOLLOWS:
. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria 
. National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Abuja, Nigeria 
. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH)f Accra, Ghana 
. National Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH) Main Hall, Enugu Nigeria 
. Connaught Hospital. Freetown, Sierra Leone 

THE PARTS I & II EXAMINATIONS WILL HOLD FROM 21st OCTOBER 2013 IN TWO CENTRES
. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria  
. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH)f Accra, Ghana

APPLICATION

Current application forms are available at the College Secretariat in Yaba, Lagos and WAPMC Liaison Office at UGMS, Korle Bu, Accra, Ghana. Application forms can also be downloaded from the College website: www.wacs-coac.org

ALL APPLICATION FORMS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY "DOCUMENTS INCLUDED CONTROL FORM' WHICH COULD BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE WEBSITE ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM AND RELEVANT DOCUMENTS.

DEFERMENT OF EXAMINATION AFTER SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE 


REQUIREMENTS

Candidates applying to sit the Primary Fellowship Examinations must be medical Practioners who are fully registered in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Or The Gambia. Cdndidates must submit their degree certificate and evidence of FULL registration with Medical &Dental council of their countries. 

Candidates applying to sit the Part I Fellowship Examination •• must have passed the Prlmary Examination of the west African College of Surgeons or its equivalent and satisfactorily completed appropriate years of Postgraduate training as prescribed by the relevant WACS fatuity. candidates are required to submit their logbooks duly certjfied by their training consultants. 

Candidates applying to sit the Part II (Final Followship examinations must have passed the Part I Fellowship examinations of the West African College of Surgeons and satisfactorily completed appropriate years of Postgraduate training as Prescribed by the relevant WACS faculty. Candidates are required to submit copies af their Thesis\Dissertations with the application forms. 

Candidates applying to sit O&G Part II Examinations must. submit their Thesis\dissertations and Case books separately bound in Navy blue Colour before 1st july, 2013. 

Candidates applying to sit Surgery Part II Examinations must submit their dissertations separately bound in spiral format before 1st July, 2013. 

Candidates applying to Sit Dental surgery, Radiology and ORL Part II Examinations must submit a copy of their logbooks, Three copies of Approved Proposal and dissertatios before the closing date of applications.
 
All Part II candidates must submit an evidence of attendance of Manuscript Writing Workshop.

THE COLLEGE SHALL BEAR NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR PAYMENT INTO WRONG ACCOUNTS. CASH PAYMENT IS UNACCEPTABLE. 

Candidates must Indicate their names in the Teller Column 'Paid By'.
 
Candidates should write their Faculty and Part of the Examination on the TELLER and submit same with their Examination Application Form to the College Secretariat either in person or by COurier Only 


CLOSING DATE
The closing date for the submission of compleated application forms is June 22, 2013. Candidates for the Part II (final) examination in Anaesthesia, Dental surgery, Ophthalmology, ORL, Radiology, must submit their dissertations/thesis by the closing date.

Penalty for late submissions is 120,000 for the ist week and then 30,000 for the next one week.
All late applications close on july 6, 2013.

Applications submitted later than this date would not be processed.
