Yobe Boosts Health Sector with 153 Doctors, Nurses

As part of continued efforts to reposition the Yobe State Healthcare Delivery System , YOHDS, and ensure steady supply of quality health workers, 49 medical student in institutions of higher learning have been placed on Salary Grade Level 07 with immediate effect.
 
Additional applications for placement by other medical students are also being processed for immediate approval by Governor Ibrahim Gaidaam.
 
The engagement of more health workers in YOHDS was contained in a press statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Press Affairs and information, Abdullahi Bego, and made available to newsment yesterday in state capital, Damaturu.
 
He further disclosed that all medical students currently sponsored by government would be automatically employed by the state government after obtaining their medical degrees to practice in the various communities, including border areas with Niger Republic.
 
The state government, he added, recentlu employed 52 nurses who had successfully passed their Nursing and Midwifery Council examinations
