A Non-Governmental Organisation, Charity to Cheer Foundation, in collaboration with Etisalat, provided free Cataract surgery for some residents of Bauchi State.
The surgery was conducted at Bayara General Hospital in Bauchi by a team of Ophthalmic surgeons who are members of the foundation.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the founder, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Barrister Maryam Shehu Muhammad, the foundation was formed by young professionals in various fields of human endeavours to assist the less privileged. She said the Foundation offered similar services to about 20 persons in Zaria, during the first phase of the exercise.
She said in the second phase, which will be carried out in Bauchi and Gombe states, the foundation plans to offer free treatment to at least 100 persons.
