80 out of the 3,525 victims of snake bite died at the General Hospital Kaltungo in Kaltungo local Government area of Gombe State between January to December 2015.
Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Habu Abubakar stated this in Kaltungo while answering question from reporters at the end of communal project to create access road to Galdimaru community in Shongom Local Government area as part of effort to reduce the frequent death of pregnant women and snake bite victims in the area.

The medical expert said cases of snake bites become rampant during hot weather and advised people to be proactive and follow health tips to reduce snake bites.
The Emir of Kaltungo, Mai Kaltungo, Engineer Saleh Mohammed who organized the communal project actively participated in removing stones and said the road is 23 kilometers long and links the community with people of Karim Lamido and it takes people eight hours to reach the village due to no accessible road.
