The Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency has promised to support companies engaged in monitoring public and private health facilities in Lagos State.
The promise was made at a meeting with the companies at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ikeja, with the aim of reviewing their activities to identify the challenges they face while monitoring the facilities.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Abiola Idowu, disclosed that the companies had greatly improved the efficiency of the agency’s monitoring activities.
According to a statement issued by the Lagos State Government, within three months, their activities monitored 932 health facilities across the state, compared to the little over 1,000 facilities visited yearly by the agency.
The statement quoted Idowu to have “further explained that the meeting also aimed at assessing the performances of the franchisees with the aim of addressing the challenges that may require support from the agency or the state government as a whole.”
The executive secretary used the opportunity of meeting the franchisees to plead with owners of health facilities in the state to cooperate with the franchise companies engaged in monitoring both public and private health facilities in Lagos State for a smooth exercise and in order to improve the quality of healthcare services to Lagosians.
