Health Financing Advisor in a Reputable Health System Strengthening Consulting Firm

A reputable health system strengthening consulting firm based in Abuja with implementation offices in three states requires the services of a Health Financing Advisor to implement a donor-funded sustainable financing project. Under the leadership of the Program Director, the Health Financing Advisor will provide technical support, program design and implementation support to the program team.  

 

Responsibilities  

 

Assist project team in the day-to-day implementation and coordination of project activities;  

 

Provide technical support to design and implementation of health financing diagnostics such as Fiscal Space Analysis, Public Financial Management and Expenditure Tracking;  

 

Provide support towards strengthening health financing operations of State Social Health Insurance Schemes in supported states;  

 

Support the process of integrating vertical disease programs into State Social Health Insurance Schemes through design and implementation of integration roadmap;  

 

Make technical inputs to proposal writing and other business development activities of the Business Development Unit;  

 

Facilitate seminars, webinars and other thought leadership activities of the organisation including project-wide sharing of technical materials and insights;  

 

Contribute to the process of synthesis and documentation of lessons learned and success stories; and  

 

Represent the organisation at meetings with stakeholders, funding agency and civil society.  

 

Qualifications and Skills  

 

An advanced degree (minimum MSc/MPH) in health economics, public health, public policy, or equivalent, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience;  

 

Prior working experience in health financing in Nigeria;  

 

Work experience and familiarity with HIV/AIDS and TB financing;  

 

Familiarity with the government planning and budgeting process;  

 

Strong quantitative and analytical skills;  

 

Proven ability to develop and implement policies and strategies for institutional strengthening and technical capacity building;  

 

Strong conceptual and research skills, with ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze and integrate diverse information from varied sources into conclusions and recommendations;  

 

Proven planning, networking, team-building, and organizational skills;  

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
