Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, and transfusion medicine.
- Prepare samples for examination, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Follow standard operating procedures for laboratory testing and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures and test results.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff.
- Communicate test results and findings with healthcare providers.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Valid license to practice.
- Proven experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in test results.
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Candidate must be a resident of Ughelli & it’s environs.
