Job Title: Occupational Health Physician

Job Description
- The Occupational health Physician works with the HSE team and is responsible for providing target occupational health advice so that staff can safely engage work-related activities with minimal risk to health and safety.
- OHP also plays a pivotal role in the promotion of health-relatedstrategies and workplace wellbeing.
- The Doctor shall be responsible for overseeing and coordination all aspects of healthcare in MG VOWGAS Operations and shall ensure that operations comply with National and Industry healthcare laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Pre-employment and periodic medical examinations for employees.
- Provide specialist occupational health services and advice to MG VOWGAS Limited.
- In conjunction with HSE, develop and implement integrated, evidence-based workplace occupational health and wellbeing to support and MG VOWGAS activities, maintain and review policies, procedures, guidelines and information sheets in support of health and wellbeing programs, surveillance and effectively manage contemporary workplace wellbeing issues.
- Drive and foster a positive culture of health and wellbeing across MG VOWGAS, through health campaigns, effective communication, and other wellbeing, ethical and social responsibilities.
- In collaboration with HSE, undertake health risk assessments of key hazards and task, design, develop and deliver occupational health and safety solutions to provide a safe work environment
- Assistance with developing Medical/First aid plans and procedures & that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as local client requirements.
- Provide treatment for work-related illnesses and injuries
- Assists with the development and implementation of appropriate location emergency response systems/Drills.
- Provide relevant information for monthly HSE reports.
- Uphold confidentiality of workers’ information.
- Overall day-to-day medical activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Degree in Medicine & Surgery
- Post-graduate qualifications in Occupational and/or public health.
- Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria.
- Valid Medical licence
- Other relevant OHS qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Occupational health functions within the Oil and Gas industry.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in Health Management Systems (HMIS) and its requirements.
- Proficiency in managing health programs and medical records.
- Knowledge of applicable National/government OHS regulations in the oil and Gas Industry.
- Self-motivated, with strong Communication and leadership skills
- Excellent diagnostics and clinical skills.
- Ability to manage Medical Emergencies and Respond to incidents.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
