Job Title: Pharmacy Supervisor

Location: Potiskum, Yobe

Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting to: Nutrition and Health Program Manager

Proposed start date: October 2023

Overview

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of Pharmacy Supervisor who will be responsible for the coordination of all the program medical supply logistics, including the implementation of activities in line with ACF and donor policies for medical procurement, drug management, warehousing, supply and stock management.
  • Also responsible for providing technical support to health facilities and LGA LMCU in terms of medical supply chain management, LMS and in planning supply distribution and use of medical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the drugs supplied to the different centres are appropriate and necessary;
  • Oversee medical logistics for the project, including follow up with the consortium pharmacy manager on quantification and allocation of ACF drugs;
  • Follow up on the monthly consumption and calculate the needs for local and urgent international orders in collaboration with supply chain team;
  • Record any medical item entry and exit in stock cards on weekly basis;
  • Report discrepancies and general consumption issues to the Pharmacy Supervisor;    
  • Work with program team to amend drug and stock quotas on a weekly basis to prevent exceptional ordering;
  • Organize drugs delivery to the different sites in collaboration with Warehouse assistant, SC Logistics Supervisor and Nutrition and Health Programme Manager and Officers;
  • Implement and ensure clear safety procedures;

  • Responsible for inventory and replacement of all emergency boxes – following the schedule for these activities;
  • Monthly consumption reports and analysis of data;
  • Managing overall planning and the division and coordination of work in collaboration with the nutrition and health team;
  • Regular meetings with the LLMCU to provide technical support for effective functioning of the unit.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy;
  • Over three years of experience in pharmaceutical and medical stock management;
  • Must be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English language. Hausa language is desirable;
  • Strong work ethic: punctuality, responsibility and flexibility;
  • Strong sense of organisation and attention to details;
  • Capacity to work in a team;
  • High level of motivation;  
  • Computer skills (Microsoft office);
  • Work experience in INGO setting will be an added advantage;
  • Experience in a pharmacy supply for health and nutrition program;
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy;  
  • Experience in Training Ministry of Health staffs.
