Job Title: Quality Assurance Pharmacist

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The main responsibility of the Quality Assurance Pharmacist is to ensure continued compliance of the technical aspects of the business.
  • The purpose is to ensure compliance with all the provisions of the Pharmacy Act.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation, including batch records, specifications, and validation protocols.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain quality control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines, addressing any non-compliance issues.
  • Provide training to staff on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
  • Review and approve the release of finished pharmaceutical products for distribution.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement and participate in process enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical industry with at least 4+ years in QA/QC type roles supporting commercial pharmaceutical operations, ideally in a production QA support, technical manufacturing projects or release roles
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Licensed pharmacist in Nigeria
  • Shows high level of integrity in all customer related and business activities.
  • Understanding of common medical warehousing standards
  • Experience in capacity development and delivery of trainings
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with quality audits and process improvement.
  • Highest degree of personal and professional integrity, honesty, and ethics.
  • Continuous quality improvement mindset.
  • Leadership by example orientation.
  • Actively engage with operations and HQ management.
