University of Medical Sciences Ondo State Admission into Physiotherapy Postgraduate for 2023/2024 Academic Session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into both PGD and MSc programmes in Physiotherapy department.

1. MSc Exercise and Sports Science

Eligibility/Admission requirements

Eligible to apply are candidates with first degree in Physiotherapy (BMR PT, BSc PT, BPT), Occupational Therapy (BMR OT, BSC OT, BOT), Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSc P&O and BOP), Audiology, Speech Language Therapy, Physiology (B.Sc Physiology), Physical and Health Education/Human Kinetics or any other relevant field from a recognized University. Candidates with CGPA of at least 3.5 out of 5 are eligible.

2. MSc Sports and Exercise Medicine

Eligibility/Admission requirements

Eligible to apply are candidates with first degree in Medicine (MBBS) or Dentistry, Physiotherapy (BMR PT BSc PT, BPT), Occupational Therapy (BMR OT, BSc OT, BOT), Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS), Nursing Science (BSc Nursing) and Pharmacy (BSc Pharm, B Pharm).

Other Admission Requirements

i. The candidates must have had a minimum of 5 credits, in Biology, Chemistry and Physics including English and Mathematics at O Level.

ii The candidates should have secured a minimum of Second Class Lower degree or minimum of 50% aggregate mark to qualify for the MSc programme.

Duration of study

The Master of Science degree program will last for a minimum of three semesters.

3. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) In Exercise and Sports Science

Eligibility/Admission requirements

Eligible to apply are candidates with first degree in Physiotherapy (BMR PT BSc PT, BPT), Occupational Therapy (BMR OT, BSc OT, BOT), Pharmacy (BSc Pharm, B Pharm), Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSc P&O and BOP), Audiology, Speech Language Therapy, Physiology (BSc Physiology), Physical and Health Education/Human Kinetics or any other relevant field from a recognized University.

4. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Sports and Exercise Medicine

Eligibility/Admission requirements

Eligible to apply are candidates with first degree in Medicine (MBBS) or Dentistry, Physiotherapy (BMR PT BSc PT, BPT), Occupational Therapy (BMR OT, BSC OT, BOT), Medical Laboratory Science (BSc MLS, BMLS), Nursing Science (BSc Nursing) and Pharmacy (BSc Pharm, B Pharm).

Other Admission Requirements

i. The candidates must have had a minimum of 5 credits, in Biology, Chemistry and Physics including English and Mathematics at O Level.

ii. The candidates should have secured a minimum of Third Class Lower degree or minimum of 45% aggregate mark for Sports and Exercise Medicine.

iii. Holders of Higher National Diploma certificate (minimum of Lower credit) can also be admitted

Duration of study

The PGD program will last for a minimum of one year and it is divided into two semesters.

General Requirements

Interested candidates shall complete the application form on the University portal and provide all relevant documents as specified on the application form, including certificates of degrees and/or diplomas, academic transcripts and three (3) reference letters.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Eligible candidates should log on to university website www.unimed.edu.ng.

Then, take the following steps:-

i. Click on Admission;

ii. Click on programme of choice;

iii. Click on PAYMENT to make payment via online payment system using VISA or MASTER card. Note that VERVE card is not allowed.

iv. After payment, print payment receipt

v. Click on APPLICATION FORM with your payment Transaction ID to complete the form.

The completed forms and all documents should be submitted latest by November 10, 2023.
