We’ll Turn UNIMED To First-Class Varsity –Akeredolu

The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has declared that his administration would turn the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ondo State to a first-class higher institution.

The governor, who spoke in Ondo town, during a campaign tour, said there were many good plans his administration had for the school, if re-elected to the office.

Akeredolu also expressed his determination to work more for the growth and development of the university, stressing that only continuity could guarantee the implementation of his plans for the school.

He said, “When we came, we were very passionate about the teaching hospital. Today, we have the teaching hospitals in both Ondo and Akure. UNIMED has been expanded. Its college of Nursing is in Akure and also, its College of Health Technology.”

The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, said contrary to the fear in Ondo Kingdom that Akeredolu might abandon UNIMED, the governor had honoured his words that he would continue to maintain and develop the institution.
