The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) would provide financial assistance to governments of its member countries affected by Ebola outbreak. The benefitting countries includes Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
AFC's assistance will be directed through partnerships with the International Federation for Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Virology Unit of the Central Research Laboratory of the College of Medicine, Universety of Lagos, Nigeria and the Lagos State Infectious Diseases Hospital, Nigeria.
Andrew Alli, President and Chief Executive Officer, Africa Finance Corporation, in a statement said the contribution will have a positive impact in containing the virus and equipping medical facilities in affected countries.
AFC is an African private sector led multilateral development finance institution, established in 2007 to invest in infrastructure acroos Africa.
