Worried by the number of people parading as member the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (MRT), the body has therefore warned members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to obtain a license from the MRT Board (MRTB) before proceeding on service.
The body, through its registrar/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Akanle Olufunke came to the resolution that every corpse member going for NYSC programe must henceforth possess a copy of the Professional License from the Board before proceeding to service.
Akanle said: ‘’It has come to the knowledge of the Board that, some have not undergone the compulsory one year internship programme which is a continuation of their training programme before being fully registered with the Board. The initial license given to the inductees after induction is the Provisional Professional License, which cover them for the period of a year internship programme. Thereafter, they are expected to proceed to the Board for full registration before proceeding for the National youth service programme.”
While urging NYSC authorities to ensure that corps member adhere to the warning, she also solicited their cooperation to get rid of any corps member found wanting.
Akande said: “The full Professional License is required for them to practice during the year of National service programme. We are soliciting for the full cooperation of the NYSC authority to ensure that corps members present their full professional License before they are deployed to places of primary assignment.
