BREAKING NEWS: JOHESU/ Federal Government Meeting Deadlocked

Posted on: Mon 15-12-2014

The meeting between JOHESU and the representatives of the Federal Government, which comprised of the ministry of health, salaries and wages commission, ended in yet another stalemate but this time abruptly with no resolution(s) reached.

The meeting which started few minutes after 6:00PM showed that government is obviously unserious.

The Federal Government claimed to have gone to 20 Federal Teaching Hospitals, 21 FMCs, 16 Specialist Hospitals and 6 others to determine numbers of staff. They also said the Salary and Wages Commission had done salary computation using the new harmonized salary structure. Hence the need for more time and rescheduling of the meeting to another date and suggestively 22/12/2014.

This ostensibly gave JOHESU no choice than to insist on health workers from all over the country, including those in rural areas, to continue with the strike action.
JOHESU
JOHESU leaders with our very own, Alh T. Y. Raheem at the meeting made it clear that nobody can intimidate her members since Nigeria belongs to us all.

Members are therefore advised to remain resolute, be prepared for tougher fight because nothing good comes on a platter of gold.
JOHESU will release a formal statement tomorrow through a press briefing slated for 12:00 noon tomorrow (16/12/2014). Aluta continua. Victoria ascerta.

In a swift reaction, sms were sent out to JOHESU members reporting that after extensive deliberations some progress have been made but JOHESU has maintained her stand of NO HALF MEASURES. Please disregard threats of NO WORK, NO PAY
